I really need some extra money but I have a two-year-old at home and don't want to put her in a daycare. Can you guide me to websites that offer work-at-home call centre positions that are not scams?
Five years ago, I graduated with a fine arts degree and haven't worked in the field. Although I paint on the side I don't make much money; instead I have mostly survived by working retail. I really want to leave the shoe store I'm working at and think I would prefer working as a gallery assistant. I've looked online but those jobs seem hard to find ... please let me know how I can get my foot in the door.
I have worked for 15 years with the same company which will be shutting down in two months. Despite having held different positions and having been promoted several times I feel that working for so long at one company could be seen as a weakness. How should I represent myself in my resumé and cover letter?
I graduated this year with a degree in psychology and I am feeling frustrated and depressed because I still haven't found a full-time job. I plan to go back to school one day to pursue my masters in clinical psychology so I can become a therapist but right now I need some money coming in. I was recently offered a part-time client service representative (CSR) job for a financial company but I don’t know whether to take it as the pay won't cover my expenses. Do you have any advice for me?
I have a Masters in Social Work (M.S.W.) from India and four years of work experience in child protection. My application for the Skilled Workers Program has been approved and I am planning to move to Canada (in the Toronto region) in three to four months. Could you let me know how long it takes to get employment as a social worker and if there is anything I need to do to prepare myself?
Last year I graduated from a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Integrated Media Program where I found out that I LOVE shooting videos. Since then I unsuccessfully applied to numerous jobs -- everything from video editor to visual merchandiser to helping homeless youth make art. I worked on a couple of film sets for free but the only job I could get that actually paid was selling lingerie. My dream was to become a video or film director but things look bleak and hopeless now. Do you have any suggestions of where to go from here?
I am in my mid-fifties and want to leave my medical administration position for a position that is less demanding. I wouldn't mind working as an admin assistant in the social services or nonprofit sector but I don't want any more medical admin assistant jobs (too stressful). I am open to working in the healthcare field in some other position or working with seniors. I can't afford to go back to school full-time but I am open to short-term retraining. Do you have any suggestions?
I've been working for the government for the past five years and really think I need another career. I've written some reports and done some technical writing over the past while and quite like it. Do you know anything about technical writing and I how I could start out in this field?
I am a sales manager from India who is in the process of immigrating to Canada. I have an MBA and I am considering doing an online certificate course in sales and marketing from the Canadian Virtual University. Would taking such a course enhance my job prospects in the Canadian (Toronto) market?
I've been doing the "same old, same old" for too long in my job and I don't see any chance to grow. I want to quit but I can't because my husband is out of work. Do you have any advice on how I can look for work when I'm still working?
